Who Should Not Buy This?

This is not the correct model when one wall location must reproduce both left and right stereo channels. The SIG-76-IW is a standard single-channel speaker, not a dual-voice-coil model.

It is also not a selectable bipole or dipole surround speaker. Choose the SIG-76-IWSURR when the theater requires a wider and more diffuse side- or rear-surround field.

Before Cutting the Wall

Push Lock by Swarm Installation

Episode’s Push Lock by Swarm system uses spring-loaded mounting dogs that engage when the front buttons are pressed.

Once engaged, the speaker is supported in the wall while the installer completes final positioning and tightening. The mounting dogs can be cinched by up to approximately 6mm when additional pressure is needed for uneven, textured, or layered wall material.

Only tighten each mounting dog after it has fully engaged behind the wall. Excessive tightening can damage the speaker frame or wall surface.

Direct-to-Stud Installation

The in-wall cradle includes countersunk mounting holes that can support direct attachment to a suitable wall stud when required by the project.

The countersunk holes are an installation feature. They should not be described as creating a completely flush or mud-in speaker installation.

One-Step or Staged Two-Step Installation

The SIG-76-IW ships as an assembled speaker-and-cradle system for a straightforward one-step installation.

For staged construction, the speaker core can be removed and the cradle installed first. Wiring, a protective cover, and the optional enclosure can be completed while the speaker remains protected from paint, drywall dust, insulation, and construction debris.

The speaker core can then be installed after the wall finish and surrounding work are complete.

Included Cradle and Optional Enclosure

The compatible Signature cradle is included with the speaker. The SIG-CRADLE-IW-6 is available separately for advance installation, replacement, or projects requiring an additional cradle.

The compatible ESS-ENCL-IW-6 enclosure is optional and sold separately. It can provide more predictable acoustic performance, help reduce sound transfer into an adjoining room, and keep insulation or construction debris away from the speaker.

When the enclosure is used, allow approximately 3.8 inches of mounting depth and align the speaker, cradle, and direct-connect interface correctly.

Grille and Finish

The speaker is compatible with thin-bezel, paintable magnetic grilles for a clean, low-profile architectural appearance.

Do not describe the standard installation as a fully flush or mud-in finish unless the correct optional construction and grille system has been selected.
