Strong SM-CB-T-M Low Profile Tilt TV Wall Mount 24–55 Inch

Product Details

Low-Profile Tilt Control for Medium-Size TVs

The Strong SM-CB-T-M Carbon Series is a tilt wall mount for 24–55" TVs weighing up to 100 lb. It keeps the display approximately 2.6" from the wall while providing +12°/-5° tilt, making it a practical choice when you want a clean wall-mounted look with more viewing-angle flexibility than a fixed mount.

It works well in bedrooms, offices, kitchens, smaller living rooms, media spaces, and other locations where the TV may be mounted slightly above eye level or where glare adjustment is useful.

  • Tilt range: +12° / -5°
  • Mounting depth: Approximately 2.6" from the wall
  • Post-install leveling: Up to 3/4" for fine alignment
  • VESA compatibility: Supported patterns through 400 × 400 mm
  • Certification: UL Certified
  • Finish: Black
  • Warranty: Limited Lifetime Warranty

Who Should Choose the SM-CB-T-M?

Choose this mount when your compatible TV will stay centered on the wall but needs tilt for better viewing comfort or glare reduction. It is especially useful when the screen is mounted somewhat higher than normal eye level.

If you want the TV to turn toward different seating areas or pull away from the wall, choose a full-motion mount instead. If the screen will stay at eye level and never needs angle adjustment, a fixed mount may provide a shallower profile. You can compare options in our TV Wall Mounts collection.

TV and VESA Compatibility

Screen size alone does not confirm compatibility. Your TV must weigh no more than 100 lb and use one of the supported VESA mounting patterns.

Strong currently lists support for 50 × 50, 50 × 100, 100 × 100, 100 × 200, 200 × 100, 200 × 200, 200 × 300, 300 × 100, 300 × 200, 300 × 300, 300 × 400, 400 × 100, 400 × 200, 400 × 300, and 400 × 400 mm.

Confirm the exact VESA pattern in your TV specifications before ordering. Also check the position and depth of rear power, HDMI, network, antenna, and other connections because the TV remains relatively close to the wall.

Tilt and Post-Install Leveling

The tilt arms provide up to 12° forward tilt and 5° in the opposite direction. Ratcheting adjustment handles help secure the selected angle.

Adjustment screws at the top of the mounting arms allow small horizontal-level corrections after the TV has been hung. Strong's current specification lists up to 3/4" of post-install leveling.

This is intended for fine alignment, not as a replacement for correctly locating and leveling the wall plate during installation.

Low-Profile Design and Outlet Access

The SM-CB-T-M sits approximately 2.6" from the wall. Strong uses a wide-open back plate with approximately 11" of open space to help accommodate wall outlets and in-wall connections behind the display.

Because this is still a low-profile mount, make sure your TV's rear connectors, power plug, adapters, and cable bend radius will fit comfortably behind the screen.

Locking Pull Cords

The TV arms lock onto the wall plate after the display is hung. Pull cords release the locking mechanism when the TV needs to be removed or accessed, and magnetic cord ends help keep the cords stored out of sight.

Installation and Wall Requirements

The mounting surface must safely support the combined weight of the mount, TV, and attached components. Strong's installation manual provides instructions for suitable wood-stud and concrete mounting conditions.

For wood-stud installations, Strong specifies mounting across two studs, with studs at least 2" × 4" and no more than 3/8" drywall covering them. For concrete installations, the manual specifies concrete with a minimum density of 2500 psi and provides separate requirements for concrete block.

Do not rely on drywall alone as the structural mounting surface. For a heavier display or any wall condition you are unsure about, confirm the structure and suitable fasteners before installation.

What's Included?

  • Wall plate assembly
  • 2 tilt TV mounting arms
  • M4, M6, and M8 TV mounting screws
  • TV spacers
  • M6 and M8 washers
  • Lag bolts and lag washers
  • Concrete anchors
  • Allen key

The TV, AV cables, in-wall wiring, electrical components, and any installation-specific hardware not supplied with the mount are sold separately.

Dimensions

Strong's technical drawing shows approximately 18.58" overall width, 18.15" vertical arm height, and approximately 2.69" physical depth in the drawing. Strong's current catalog specification rounds the installed mounting depth to 2.6" from the wall.

When to Choose Another Mount

Choose another model if your TV weighs more than 100 lb, falls outside the 24–55" range, uses a VESA pattern outside the supported list, or needs side-to-side swivel or extension. A full-motion mount is more appropriate when the viewing direction changes regularly.
