Who Should Choose the SM-CB-F-XL?

Choose this mount when you have a compatible large TV that will stay in one position and you want a strong, low-profile installation. A fixed mount is especially appropriate when the screen is installed at a comfortable viewing height and the main seating area is directly in front of it.

Low-Profile Fixed Design

The SM-CB-F-XL positions the display approximately 1.65" from the wall. Its wide-open back plate helps provide useful space around wall outlets and in-wall AV connections behind the TV.

Because this is a fixed mount, it does not tilt, swivel, or extend. If you regularly need access behind the TV, confirm that power plugs, HDMI connectors, adapters, streaming devices, and cable bend radius will fit comfortably within the available space.

Post-Install Leveling

Adjustment screws at the top of the mounting arms allow small corrections to the TV's horizontal level after installation. Strong's current product specifications list up to 3/4" of post-install leveling.

This feature is intended for fine alignment and should not be treated as general vertical TV repositioning or as a substitute for properly positioning and leveling the wall plate.

Locking Pull Cords and Outlet Access

The TV arms lock onto the wall plate after the display is hung. Pull cords release the locking mechanism when the TV needs to be removed, and magnetic cord ends help keep the cords stored out of sight.

Strong also uses an open-back plate design intended to provide useful clearance around wall outlets and in-wall boxes.

Installation and Wall Requirements

The wall structure must safely support the combined weight of the mount, TV, and attached components. Strong's installation manual covers suitable wood-stud and concrete installations.

For wood-stud installations, Strong specifies mounting across two studs, with studs at least 2" × 4" and no more than 3/8" drywall covering them. For concrete installations, Strong specifies concrete with a minimum density of 2500 psi and provides separate requirements for concrete block.

Do not rely on drywall alone as the structural mounting surface. For a large display approaching the 200 lb rating, confirming the wall structure and fastening method before installation is especially important.
