Who Should Choose the SM-CB-F-L?

TV and VESA Compatibility

Screen size alone does not confirm compatibility. Your TV must weigh no more than 150 lb and use one of the supported mounting-hole patterns.

Strong currently lists the following VESA patterns for the SM-CB-F-L: 50 × 50, 50 × 100, 100 × 100, 100 × 200, 200 × 100, 200 × 200, 200 × 300, 300 × 100, 300 × 200, 300 × 300, 400 × 100, 400 × 200, 400 × 300, 400 × 400, 500 × 200, 500 × 300, 500 × 400, 600 × 200, 600 × 300, and 600 × 400 mm.

Check your TV manual or manufacturer specifications for the exact VESA pattern before ordering. Also confirm that the TV's power connection, HDMI ports, network connection, antenna input, and other rear-facing connectors will have sufficient clearance because this mount sits close to the wall.

Low-Profile Fixed Design

The SM-CB-F-L positions the display approximately 1.65" from the wall. Its wide-open wall plate leaves useful space around electrical outlets and in-wall AV connections while helping maintain a clean finished appearance.

Because this is a fixed mount, it does not tilt, swivel, or pull away from the wall. If you regularly need access behind your TV, make sure the shallow mounting depth is appropriate for your cables, adapters, streaming devices, and connectors before choosing a fixed design.

Post-Install Leveling

Adjustment screws at the top of the mounting arms allow small corrections to the TV's horizontal level after installation. Strong's current product specifications list up to 3/4" of post-install adjustment.

This feature is intended for fine alignment. It should not be treated as a substitute for correctly positioning and leveling the wall plate during installation.

Locking Pull Cords and Cable Access

The TV arms lock onto the wall plate after the display is hung. Pull cords release the locking mechanism when the TV needs to be removed, and magnetic cord ends help keep the cords stored out of sight.

Installation and Wall Requirements

The wall structure must safely support the combined weight of the mount, TV, and attached components. Strong's installation manual covers mounting to suitable wood studs and concrete construction.

For wood-stud installations, Strong specifies studs of at least 2" × 4" covered by no more than 3/8" drywall. The wall plate mounts across two studs. For concrete, the manual specifies a minimum concrete density of 2500 psi and provides separate requirements for concrete block.

Do not rely on drywall alone as the structural mounting surface. Strong highly recommends installation by a qualified professional, particularly for large or heavy displays.

When to Choose Another Mount

Choose another model if your TV weighs more than 150 lb, uses a VESA pattern outside the supported list, will be mounted significantly above normal viewing height, or needs tilt, swivel, or extension. A tilt or full-motion mount will provide more viewing flexibility in those situations.
