Who Should Choose Sonos Move 2?

Choose Move 2 when you want one Sonos speaker that can work around the house and outdoors without being permanently tied to one room. It is a strong fit for patios, kitchens, bedrooms, living spaces, backyard gatherings, and other places where battery operation and easy portability matter.

Stereo Sound From a Single Portable Speaker

Move 2 uses two angled tweeters to provide left/right stereo separation, while a dedicated midwoofer handles vocal and low-frequency reproduction. Each acoustic section is powered by its own Class-D amplifier.

Two Move 2 speakers can also be configured as a stereo pair through Sonos when you want greater separation and a larger listening setup.

Automatic Trueplay

Automatic Trueplay continuously evaluates the speaker's surroundings and adjusts its sound as the environment changes. Unlike manual Trueplay tuning on some Sonos products, Move 2 handles this automatically as you reposition the speaker.

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3

At home, Wi-Fi gives Move 2 access to Sonos multi-room playback, supported streaming services, voice control, Automatic Trueplay features, and Apple AirPlay 2.

Bluetooth 5.3 allows direct playback from compatible phones, tablets, computers, and other Bluetooth sources when Wi-Fi is not available or convenient.

Up to 24 Hours of Battery Life

Sonos specifies up to 24 hours of continuous playback from the rechargeable 3100 mAh lithium-ion battery. Actual battery life varies with volume, Bluetooth use, temperature, and other operating conditions.

The battery is replaceable using a compatible Sonos Replacement Battery Kit, helping extend the usable life of the speaker.

Included Charging Base and USB-C Charging

Place Move 2 on the included charging base for convenient everyday charging. Sonos specifies approximately three hours for a full charge when using the charging base.

Move 2 can also charge through USB-C using a compatible USB Power Delivery supply rated at 45W or higher.

USB-C Line-In and Optional Ethernet

The USB-C port can support an external analog audio source when used with the optional Sonos Line-In Adapter. This can be useful for a CD player, turntable with the appropriate phono preamp, or another line-level source.

For wired networking, the optional Sonos Combo Adapter adds Ethernet connectivity. These adapters are sold separately.

IP56 Outdoor Protection

Move 2 is rated IP56 for protection against dust and high-pressure water streams, making it suitable for everyday indoor and outdoor use.

IP56 does not mean waterproof or submersible. Avoid leaving the speaker permanently exposed to extreme weather or standing water.

Built-In Voice Control

Move 2 includes a far-field microphone array and supports Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa where those services are available.

A physical microphone switch on the back disconnects power from the microphone hardware when additional privacy is desired.
