Who Should Choose Beam Gen 2?

Choose Beam (Gen 2) when you want a noticeable upgrade over built-in TV speakers but do not need the size or output of a larger soundbar. Sonos currently positions Beam for TVs up to approximately 65".

It is well suited to bedrooms, apartments, living rooms, gaming setups, and multi-room Sonos systems where compact size, dialogue clarity, streaming, and easy expansion matter.

Dolby Atmos Without Upward-Firing Drivers

Beam (Gen 2) supports Dolby Atmos, but unlike larger soundbars with dedicated physical height drivers, Beam uses advanced processing and phased speaker arrays to create virtual height channels.

This allows compatible Atmos content to create a more spacious three-dimensional presentation while keeping the soundbar compact.

HDMI eARC and ARC Compatibility

Connect Beam to your TV's HDMI eARC or HDMI ARC port using the included HDMI cable.

Dolby Atmos carried through Dolby Digital Plus can work through a compatible HDMI ARC connection. Higher-bandwidth formats including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos via TrueHD, and multichannel PCM require HDMI eARC.

If your TV only has optical digital audio, use the included Sonos Optical Audio Adapter. Optical provides TV audio but does not support Dolby Atmos.

Speech Enhancement boosts voice frequencies to help make dialogue easier to understand.

Night Sound reduces the intensity of louder effects while increasing quieter sounds for lower-volume nighttime viewing.

Music Streaming and Voice Control

Beam integrates with the Sonos app for music streaming and multi-room playback and supports Apple AirPlay 2 from compatible Apple devices.

Expand Into a Sonos Home Theater
