The Pure Resonance Audio S5 is a compact 4.5" two-way surface-mount speaker designed for background music, paging, and general-purpose audio in indoor or outdoor spaces. Its small enclosure is easy to place under overhangs, on walls, or in tighter areas where a larger surface-mount speaker would be unnecessary.

The S5 supports 70V and 100V distributed-audio systems and also includes an 8-ohm bypass for compatible low-impedance amplifiers.

Who Should Choose the S5?

Choose the S5 when you need a compact surface-mount speaker for patios, walkways, retail stores, classrooms, gyms, restaurants, hospitality areas, or smaller residential outdoor zones where clear music and paging matter more than deep bass or very high output.

Its wide 110° × 110° dispersion makes it useful for covering smaller areas with fewer directional constraints than a narrow-dispersion speaker.

The S5 uses a 4.5" polypropylene woofer and 0.75" silk tweeter for full-range music and voice reproduction.

Pure Resonance Audio specifies a 90Hz–16kHz frequency response, 92dB sensitivity, and a maximum SPL of 102dB.

40W RMS Power Handling

The S5 is rated for 40W RMS and 120W peak power handling.

These are speaker power-handling specifications. The S5 is passive and requires a compatible amplifier.

70V and 100V Distributed-Audio Compatibility

The built-in transformer provides selectable taps for distributed-audio systems:

• 70V: 2.5W, 5W, 10W, 20W, or 40W
• 100V: 5W, 10W, 20W, or 40W

When using multiple speakers on a constant-voltage amplifier, add the selected tap wattages and allow appropriate amplifier headroom.

8-Ohm Bypass

IP65 Weather Protection

The S5 uses a UV-protected ABS enclosure with IP65 weather resistance for suitable indoor and outdoor installations.
