Four Microphone/Line Channels and Four Additional Line Channels

Channels 1–4 provide balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs for compatible microphones or line-level sources. Channel 1 has individual phantom-power and priority-ducking switches, while channels 2–4 share a phantom-power switch.

Channels 5–8 provide TRS and RCA connections for additional line-level sources such as music players, audio receivers, and other compatible equipment.

Each channel includes gain adjustment and routing controls, allowing you to select which zones receive that source.

Independent Four-Zone Audio Routing

The MX84 allows input channels to be assigned to individual zones or multiple zones. Each of the four outputs has its own level control, mute function, and two-band EQ.

This makes it possible to manage different audio needs across a property from one mixer, rather than sending the same mix at the same level to every room.

Three-Band Input EQ and Two-Band Zone EQ

The mixer provides three-band EQ for shaping microphone and line-input signals, plus separate high and low EQ controls for each zone.

Input EQ operates at 12kHz for high frequencies, 2.5kHz for midrange, and 80Hz for bass. Zone EQ provides high-frequency adjustment at 10kHz and low-frequency adjustment at 100Hz.

Priority Paging and Announcement Control

Channel 1 includes a priority-ducking function for applications where announcements need to take precedence over other audio sources.

The MX84 also includes a priority mute input for integration with an appropriately designed external system. Its remote paging microphone connection supports zone-selectable announcements when used with the compatible Pure Resonance Audio MX8-PM paging microphone, sold separately.

The MX8-PM connection uses RJ45, but it is a dedicated paging microphone interface, not a standard Ethernet or PoE network port.

Built-In Zone Monitoring Speaker

A built-in speaker allows you to monitor individual audio zones directly from the MX84. Zone selection, monitoring volume, and pre/post-fader controls help you check audio without relying only on the speakers installed throughout the property.

Optional Remote Wall Control

The MX84 supports the compatible Pure Resonance Audio MX8-WP wall control panel, sold separately. This provides an additional control location for supported installations.

External Amplification Required

The MX84 provides balanced line-level outputs, not amplified speaker outputs. It cannot directly power passive 8-ohm, 70V, or 100V speakers.
