The Pure Resonance Audio DA2500 is made for commercial installs where flexibility matters as much as power. It is a 2-channel rack mount power amplifier that can drive 70V distributed speakers and low-impedance speakers, and it can do it in a way that many amps simply cannot: each channel has its own independent 70V or 4–16 ohm switch.
That means you can run a 70V speaker line for a building zone, and at the same time run a separate low-impedance zone for a different area, using one 1U amplifier. For integrators, that is a cleaner rack, fewer boxes to power, fewer points of failure, and usually a more cost-effective build.
Power is substantial. The DA2500 delivers 2 x 500W at 70V, 500W at 4 ohm, and 250W at 8 ohm. In practical terms, it can handle large commercial paging and background music deployments, while still having the muscle to run low-impedance speakers where you want higher fidelity or shorter speaker runs.
Signal handling is designed for pro installs, with balanced inputs (±385mV/20kΩ), useful when your source equipment is farther away or when you want cleaner noise performance in a busy rack. The front-panel indicators help with fast troubleshooting, showing signal presence, peak clipping, protection status, and power supply state.
Reliability is clearly part of the design brief. The DA2500 includes protection against high temperature, overload, and short-circuit conditions. It uses fan-forced cooling to manage heat in racks that run long hours, which is common in schools, restaurants, houses of worship, retail, warehouses, and public facilities.
Another practical feature for installers is remote monitoring and fault indication via Euroblock connection. If you are building a system that needs visibility at the head-end, or you want faster diagnostics without pulling gear out of a rack, that becomes valuable very quickly.
Benefits
You can run mixed speaker systems from one 1U amp, 70V on one channel and low-impedance on the other, which simplifies racks and reduces equipment count. You get real commercial power for larger zones, plus balanced inputs and monitoring features that make installs cleaner and troubleshooting faster. Protection and forced cooling help it stay stable in long-hour, always-on environments.
