1. Is this a UPS or battery backup?
   No, it is a power conditioner and surge protector, it does not provide battery runtime. If you need backup power, add a UPS.
   
2. Will the LAN protection support gigabit Ethernet?
   The built in LAN protection is rated for 10/100Base T, so it can limit gigabit speeds. For gigabit or PoE networks, use a gigabit rated Ethernet surge protector instead.
   
3. How is it set up in a rack or media cabinet?
   It is rack mountable and includes rack ears, with 1 outlet on the front and 7 on the rear. Plug your AV gear into the outlets, and run your coax and LAN line through the in and out ports if you want signal line protection.
