1. Does it need to be hardwired?
   Yes. This is a wired floodlight camera, it installs like a standard outdoor floodlight and needs existing power at the junction box.
   
2. Do I need a subscription for recording?
   Live view and alerts work without a subscription. For longer saved video history and advanced recording features, a Nest Aware plan is usually needed.
   
3. How do I reduce false alerts and annoying light triggers?
   Mount it with a clear view, avoid pointing it at busy streets, and use activity zones plus sensitivity settings in the app. Angling it slightly downward helps a lot.
