The KEF Ci200QR is a passive 8" round in-ceiling speaker sold individually for stereo listening, whole-home audio, TV sound, media rooms, and larger spaces where stronger low-frequency capability and wide sound dispersion are important.

Its Uni-Q driver array places the 1" aluminum tweeter at the acoustic center of the 8" woofer, helping the speaker behave more like a single point source and distribute sound broadly across the room.

Who Should Choose the Ci200QR?

Choose the Ci200QR when you want a larger architectural speaker with deeper published bass extension, higher amplifier capability, and strong output while keeping the speaker visually discreet in the ceiling.

It works well for living rooms, open-plan spaces, stereo music systems, distributed audio, TV listening, and surround applications. For conventional stereo playback, order two speakers.

Passive Speaker and Amplifier Requirements

The Ci200QR is completely passive and requires an external amplifier or AV receiver. It does not include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, streaming, app control, or a built-in amplifier.

KEF recommends 10–150 W of amplifier power and specifies an 8-ohm nominal impedance. Connect it to a compatible amplifier or AV receiver using appropriate in-wall rated speaker wire.

The 10–150 W specification is KEF's recommended amplifier range, not an RMS or peak power-handling rating.

Uni-Q With 115-Degree Coverage

The Ci200QR combines an 8" Uni-Q driver with a 1" aluminum tweeter positioned at its acoustic center. KEF's Tangerine Waveguide helps control high-frequency dispersion.

KEF specifies approximately 115° nominal coverage, helping provide broad sound across the listening area while reducing dependence on a narrow sweet spot.

Frequency Response and Bass Performance

KEF specifies an open-backed frequency response of 35 Hz–34 kHz at ±6 dB and a broader 32 Hz–30 kHz range at -10 dB. KEF recommends a 40 Hz high-pass filter.

The 8" driver provides stronger low-frequency capability than many smaller architectural models. A subwoofer can still be added when deeper or more controlled bass is required for home theater or higher-output systems.
