The KEF Ci200ER is a passive 8" round in-ceiling speaker sold individually for whole-home audio, stereo zones, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and other spaces where a larger architectural speaker is preferred.

Its Uni-Q driver array combines an 8" low-frequency driver with a 0.6" aluminum tweeter positioned at the acoustic center to help distribute sound more evenly across the listening area.

Who Should Choose the Ci200ER?

Choose the Ci200ER when you want a larger 8" in-ceiling speaker for music, TV audio, and distributed-audio zones while keeping a clean, low-profile ceiling appearance.

Its larger driver provides stronger low-frequency capability than smaller Ci-E models, while the 100° nominal coverage helps distribute sound across the room.

For conventional stereo playback, order two speakers. Larger rooms or whole-home systems may use additional speakers depending on ceiling height, room shape, and listening goals.

Passive Speaker and Amplifier Requirements

The Ci200ER is completely passive. It does not include a built-in amplifier, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, streaming, or app control.

KEF recommends 10–125 W of amplifier power and specifies an 8-ohm nominal impedance. Connect it to a compatible amplifier or AV receiver using appropriate in-wall rated speaker wire.

The 10–125 W figure is KEF's recommended amplifier range, not an RMS or peak power-handling specification.

Uni-Q With 100-Degree Coverage

The Ci200ER uses KEF's Uni-Q driver array, placing the 0.6" aluminum tweeter at the acoustic center of the 8" woofer.

KEF specifies approximately 100° nominal coverage, helping provide broad sound across the listening area without relying on a narrow listening position.

Frequency Response and System Setup

KEF specifies an open-backed frequency response of 45 Hz–20 kHz at ±6 dB and a broader 38 Hz–45 kHz range at -10 dB. KEF recommends a 40 Hz high-pass filter.

A subwoofer is optional for normal music and whole-home listening, but it can provide deeper and more controlled bass for home theater or higher-output systems.
