1. Will this speaker work with my AV receiver or multi-room amp?
   Yes. The SIG-78-IC is an 8 ohm in-ceiling speaker, so it’s a normal match for most home AV receivers and 8 ohm stable amplifiers.
   
2. What hole size and ceiling depth do I need?
   Plan for about a 9.7" cutout. The visible grille is about 11" wide, and the mounting depth is about 5.2". If you use the optional enclosure, plan closer to 6.6" depth.
   
3. Do I need a backbox, and when is it worth it?
   It’s optional, but I recommend it when you have blown insulation above the ceiling, you want better sound isolation between rooms, or you want a cleaner, more controlled sound. The direct-mount backbox is designed for that.
