This is not the correct model when one wall location must reproduce both left and right stereo channels. Choose a dedicated dual-voice-coil speaker for that application.

It is also not a selectable bipole/dipole surround speaker. Choose an Episode IWSURR model when you want a wider and more diffuse side- or rear-surround presentation.

For a center channel or horizontal front-stage position, use a dedicated Episode LCR model rather than rotating this standard vertical speaker sideways.

Using the SIG-58-IW for Stereo Music

Push Lock by Swarm Installation

Episode’s Push Lock by Swarm system uses spring-loaded mounting dogs that engage when the front buttons are pressed. Once engaged, the speaker is held in the opening while the installer completes final positioning.

The mounting dogs can be cinched by up to approximately 6mm when additional clamping pressure is needed for textured, uneven, or layered wall material.

Only tighten each mounting dog after it has fully engaged behind the wall. Excessive tightening can damage the frame or wall surface.

One-Step or Staged Two-Step Installation

The SIG-58-IW ships as an assembled speaker-and-cradle system for a straightforward one-step installation.

For construction projects, the speaker core can be removed and the cradle installed first. This allows wiring, the protective cover, and an optional enclosure to be completed while the speaker remains protected from paint, sanding dust, insulation, and construction debris.

The speaker core can then be inserted into the cradle after the finished wall and surrounding work are complete.

Included Cradle and Optional Enclosure

The compatible Signature cradle is included with the speaker. The separate SIG-CRADLE-IW-8 is only needed for advance installation, replacement, or projects requiring an additional cradle.

The compatible ESS-ENCL-IW-8 enclosure is optional and sold separately. It can provide a more predictable acoustic volume, help reduce sound transfer into an adjoining room, and keep insulation or debris away from the speaker.

The enclosure uses a direct, jumper-free connection when correctly aligned with the cradle and speaker assembly.

Grille and Construction Accessories

The standard speaker uses a thin-bezel magnetic grille that can be painted to better match the wall.

A true flush-mount installation requires the appropriate optional construction accessory and should be planned before the wall finish is completed.
