Compact Stereo Power for TVs and Small Audio Zones

The Episode EA-MINI-2D-35 is a compact two-channel Class D amplifier designed to power a pair of passive speakers where space is limited, including behind TVs, inside cabinets, structured wiring enclosures, bedrooms, offices, and small listening areas.

Power Output and Speaker Compatibility

• 35W RMS per channel at 4 ohms, both channels driven
• 35W RMS per channel at 6 ohms, both channels driven
• 26W RMS per channel at 8 ohms, both channels driven
• Minimum speaker load: 4 ohms per channel
• 20 Hz to 20 kHz speaker output frequency response
• Stereo or mono output mode

The 35W rating does not apply at 8 ohms. With 8-ohm speakers, Episode specifies 26W RMS per channel.

Analog and Optical Inputs

• One stereo RCA analog input
• One Toslink optical digital input
• Selectable priority between the two inputs
• Automatic source switching when a priority source becomes active

The optical input supports 2-channel PCM stereo audio only. Dolby Digital, DTS, and other surround formats are not decoded, so TVs and other digital sources must be configured for PCM stereo output.

Subwoofer and Sound Adjustment

• RCA line-level subwoofer output
• Selectable full-range or 60 Hz high-pass speaker output
• Music, Movie, and Voice sound presets
• Bass, treble, balance, and subwoofer-level adjustment through supported IR commands
• 5V DC output for a compatible wireless subwoofer adapter

The subwoofer output requires a powered subwoofer or separate subwoofer amplifier. It cannot directly power a passive subwoofer.

IR Control

The amplifier supports IR learning for power, volume, mute, and input control. It can learn commands from a compatible existing remote or integrate with a control system.

An IR receiver and the Episode EA-MINI-RC remote are not included with the standalone EA-MINI-2D-35 and are sold separately.

Automatic Power Control

Audio sensing can automatically turn the amplifier on when an input signal is detected. If neither input has an active signal for approximately 20 minutes, the amplifier can return to standby.

How much power does the EA-MINI-2D-35 provide?

It delivers 35W RMS per channel into 4-ohm or 6-ohm speakers and 26W RMS per channel into 8-ohm speakers, with both channels driven.

Can I connect a TV using optical audio?

Yes. The amplifier has a Toslink optical input, so a separate DAC is not required when the TV provides compatible optical audio. Set the TV to 2-channel PCM stereo because Dolby Digital and DTS are not decoded.

Does it also have an analog input?

Yes. It provides one stereo RCA analog input in addition to the optical input.

Can two sources remain connected?

Yes. Both analog and optical sources can be connected, with one selected as the priority input. The amplifier can automatically switch based on source activity.

What speaker impedance does it support?

The minimum load is 4 ohms per channel. It supports 4-ohm, 6-ohm, and 8-ohm passive speakers, with output power varying by impedance.

Does it include the IR receiver and remote?

No. The standalone EA-MINI-2D-35 does not include an IR receiver or EA-MINI-RC remote. These accessories are sold separately.

Can I use my existing remote?

Yes. IR learning allows compatible remote commands for power, volume, mute, and input switching to be learned by the amplifier when the required IR receiver is connected.

Can I connect a subwoofer?

Yes. It has a line-level RCA subwoofer output for a powered subwoofer or separate subwoofer amplifier.

Does it have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?

No. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, app control, and built-in music streaming are not included.

Can it be installed outdoors?

No. The amplifier is intended for dry indoor locations. It may power compatible outdoor speakers when the amplifier itself remains protected indoors.

What should I confirm before ordering?

Confirm your speaker impedance, required volume level, TV or source connection, whether optical output can be set to PCM stereo, and whether you need the optional IR receiver or remote.
