Episode EA-COM-AMP-4D-80 4-Channel 70V/100V DSP Amplifier

Product Details

Power and Control Four Speaker Zones from One Compact Amplifier

The Episode EA-COM-AMP-4D-80 is a four-channel Class D DSP amplifier with selectable 70V, 100V, 8-ohm, or 4-ohm output on each channel. It is a flexible choice for multi-zone music, paging, speech, and distributed speaker systems that need independent routing and tuning.

Power and Speaker Compatibility

  • 4 amplified output channels
  • 80W RMS per channel into 4 ohms
  • 80W RMS per channel into 8 ohms
  • 80W RMS per channel in 70V mode
  • 80W RMS per channel in 100V mode, specified at approximately 90-92Vrms
  • 320W RMS maximum system output for 5 seconds at 1 kHz
  • 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, ±2 dB

Each channel can be configured independently for 70V, 100V, 8-ohm, or 4-ohm operation. Do not mix different speaker-system types on the same output channel.

70V and 100V System Planning

For 70V or 100V speakers, add the transformer tap wattage of every speaker connected to that channel. Keep the total speaker load below the amplifier's 80W RMS channel rating and leave appropriate headroom for reliable operation.

Transformer tap settings are selected on the speakers, not on the amplifier.

DSP and Matrix Routing

  • Fully matrixed source routing
  • 10-band parametric EQ
  • Low- and high-shelf filters
  • High-pass and low-pass crossover filters
  • Compression
  • Up to 50 ms adjustable audio delay
  • 32 Episode speaker presets
  • Mono input summing
  • User-selectable priority input

MaxShare Power Technology

MaxShare allows paired amplifier channels to share available power when one channel needs more output than the adjacent channel. System design should still account for the total available amplifier power and the requirements of every connected speaker load.

Inputs and Control

  • 4 balanced line-level analog inputs
  • Gigabit Ethernet connection
  • Local web-based configuration
  • IP control
  • OvrC remote management
  • Control4 SDDP support
  • User-configurable 2-pin contact-closure input
  • Analog input signal sensing

Ethernet is used for configuration, control, and monitoring. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi music streaming, and built-in streaming services are not included.

Compatibility note: The EA-COM-AMP-4D-80 is not compatible with the Episode EA-COM-WP-ZONE wall controller.

What Is Required

  • Compatible audio sources or streaming devices
  • 70V, 100V, 4-ohm, or 8-ohm passive speakers
  • Speaker wire
  • Balanced audio cabling
  • Ethernet connection for network configuration and OvrC features

Dimensions and Installation

  • Dimensions: 19 × 1.75 × 14 inches
  • Rack height: 1RU
