Explore the Advantages of Eaton Tripp Lite SMART1000LCD Tower UPS AVR LCD 1000VA 500W

Description

The Eaton Tripp Lite SmartPro SMART1000LCD is a practical UPS for real life home offices and AV setups, where you want two things, stable power day to day, and clean shutdown protection when the power fails. It is a 120V, 1000VA 500W line interactive tower UPS designed to protect electronics from blackouts, brownouts, surges, and line noise that can damage equipment or corrupt data.

In normal use, AVR is doing a lot of the work quietly in the background. It corrects undervoltages as low as 89V back to usable levels without switching to battery, which helps extend battery life and keeps your gear from rebooting during voltage dips. It also includes EMI RFI filtering to reduce electrical noise, which is especially useful for sensitive electronics and AV components.

During an outage, it switches to battery in milliseconds, giving you enough time to save files and shut down safely. The outlet configuration is built for mixed setups: all eight NEMA 5-15R outlets include surge protection, and four of them provide battery support for critical devices. In lighter load situations, it can run a DVR component for up to about three hours, or a basic desktop PC and LCD monitor for around 60 minutes. For a more standardized reference point, it delivers about 10 minutes at half load (250W). Those numbers are load dependent, but they show what this UPS is meant for, longer runtime on typical home office gear, not just a quick shutdown window.

One of the differentiators versus simpler tower UPS models is the added protection for signal lines. You get TEL, DSL, and coax protection to help safeguard the connections that often get overlooked, like modem and phone lines, and coax feeds for DVR or cable devices. Combined with a strong 1038 joule surge suppression rating, it is a meaningful step up in overall protection for a desk or media cabinet.

Usability is strong. The large rotatable LCD with a dimmer lets you see input voltage, overload status, AVR operation, and battery status at a glance, and it stays readable whether you place the unit vertically or horizontally. The space saving NEMA 5-15P plug is designed so furniture can sit closer to the wall, which is a nice detail in home offices.

For monitoring and shutdown automation, the USB port works with the free PowerAlert software so you can set up unattended shutdown during prolonged outages. That is the difference between a controlled shutdown and a hard power cut that can corrupt files or stress drives.

What’s Included
SMART1000LCD UPS system
Integrated LCD display with dimmer
USB interface for monitoring and shutdown
PowerAlert software available via free download

Benefits
You keep a desktop PC, router, and DVR running long enough to save work and shut down cleanly. AVR stabilizes voltage during brownouts without burning battery cycles, which helps your battery last longer. You get strong surge protection plus TEL, DSL, and coax line protection, so you are not only protecting power, you are also protecting the connections that carry your data and signal.
