The Eaton Tripp Lite AV550SC is a 550VA backup power block built for structured wiring enclosure installs where reliable power and clean reboots matter. It protects the equipment that keeps the home or small business connected, including modems, routers, RF amplifiers, network interfaces, cameras, modulators, and AV distribution components.

Instead of forcing a traditional tower UPS into a tight panel area, the AV550SC is designed to fit structured wiring enclosures neatly without needing mounting screws or brackets. The result is a cleaner, more serviceable install with less cord clutter inside the enclosure.

Protection is multi-layered. Battery backup helps you ride through outages and brief blackouts. Surge protection helps defend sensitive electronics from spikes. EMI RFI line noise filtering helps reduce power noise that can cause instability, audio hum, or intermittent device issues that are hard to diagnose.

For low-voltage gear, the AV550SC includes a regulated 12V DC output that can power up to four devices, which is ideal for common structured wiring equipment that runs on DC.

The real-world reliability feature is the recycle reset button with sequential outlet startup. Many “internet down” issues are modem or router freeze-ups that require a proper power cycle. This unit lets you reboot those devices in a controlled way, without unplugging anything.
