The Araknis AN-820-AP-I is a high-performance indoor Wi-Fi 6 access point designed for larger homes, offices, media spaces, and other networks with many active wireless devices.

Part of the Araknis Networks family, it combines 4×4:4 Wi-Fi 6, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, WPA3, Fast Roaming, and a 2.5GbE wired connection for higher-capacity networks.

The advertised 3600Mbps class is a combined theoretical PHY rate, not guaranteed internet throughput. Actual speed depends on client hardware, interference, distance, channel conditions, and the wired network.

2.5GbE Multi-Gig Backhaul

• 1 × 2.5G BASE-T Ethernet port with PoE input
• 1 × 1G BASE-T Ethernet data-only port
• Up to 254 supported clients per access point

For the best wired backhaul performance, pair the access point with a compatible multi-gig or PoE network switch. The secondary 1GbE port carries data only and does not provide PoE output.

Use PoE+ or better for full wireless performance. The optional 12V DC power supply is sold separately.

What Wi-Fi speed does the AN-820-AP-I support?

Araknis specifies peak PHY rates of 1148Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2400Mbps on 5GHz. These are theoretical wireless link rates, not guaranteed internet speeds.

Does it have a 2.5GbE port?

Yes. Its primary Ethernet connection is 2.5GbE and also accepts PoE power. A second 1GbE data-only port is included.

Does it require PoE+?

PoE+ is recommended for full functionality. Araknis specifies full operation with 802.3at PoE+ or 802.3bt PoE++, while standard 802.3af PoE provides limited functionality.

How many devices can it support?

The current Araknis data sheet specifies up to 254 clients per access point.

Does it support WPA3 and Fast Roaming?

Yes. It supports WPA3 plus 802.11r/k/v Fast Roaming, Band Steering, and DFS.

Can I mix it with older Araknis Wi-Fi 5 access points?

Araknis does not recommend mixing Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5 access points in the same deployment because Fast Roaming between the generations is not supported.

Is it designed for outdoor use?

No. The AN-820-AP-I is an indoor access point designed for ceiling or wall mounting.
